A few hours later the army arrived. It was less than 100 men but included a hill giant. The men of Tatzlford were out numbered 3 to 1. Captain General Gregor deployed his forces wisely by putting his small force of infantry behind the larger force of archers. The bandit archers, with a giant as a living catapult, moved forward and engaged in ranged fire dual. The Tatztlford archers decimated the bandits and pincushioned the giant until he was forced to retreat. The barbarians then rushed Gregor who held the bridge. A spikegrowth spell placed by Glade in front the bridge cut the barbarians' feet to shreds and ended their charge. Gregor then teleported off to the barbarian right and they charged him. Between the arrows and the spikegrowth spell only the barbarian leader made it to Gregor. The Tigerlord barbarian fought bravely but wounded he was no match for Gregor. At this point the mercenary heavy infantry gave up. The pcs told the mercenaries to put down their weapons and that they could then leave in peace. The mercenaries happily agreed as they had no hope of victory.
